What is the site all about?
Boomgen.net is your best source of entertainment facilities in Australia. From theme parks [thrills] wildlife parks [wild] and anything water [splash]. The site features 1000’s of 2megapixel or higher photography showcasing these exciting attractions, and inside information into what to expect. If it’s entertainment…tourism…fun…it’s Boomgen.

Where did the idea of Boomgen come from?
Originally wrapped up in the theme park website area with OZthrills.com, I received an assessment in my Year 12 Computer Studies to design and market a website to a specific audience. I wanted to stray away from the original theme park site and have a different take on the idea. That’s when Boomgen was born. Primarily when it was completed for the assessment it featured videogames, music, and theme parks however upon realising this was not a viable venture to turn into a live website the vision was changed. With an October 2006 launch, Boomgen was more than a fansite with a load of pictures but the opportunity for people to interact with each other and people in the industry.

Can I contribute?
Yes. And No. Boomgen does to allow readers to submit their own photos for publishing on the site, but encourages members interact and upload and share photos through the Boomgen Boards. The legal framework is too great in using other photos, so to that fact Boomgen will not take any submissions. If you wish to get your name out there to the community please visit OZthrills.com.

What software was used to build the site?
A whole lot of monkeys in a sweat shop somewhere…Na, seriously Boomgen was developed through Macromedia Dreamweaver for html editing, Adobe Photoshop also threw in a helping hand to create all the pretty pictures you see and Boomgen’s board of choice MyBB.

When do you get the time to take all these photos?
Time is the answer, Disneyland wasn’t built in a day and neither is a photo collection. It takes time to build up, remove, replace and gain the best collection you possibly can.

Sweet! So what if I want a site like this myself?
Anyone can make a website. Not everyone can make a successful one. Boomgen is still in its early stages and realising a dream is no easy feat. Start small, build it up, get some reputation under your belt, and watch the visitors roll in. It’s simple, and not so simple. The best way to start your walk to fame is perhaps a Blog or small fan site.
